More detailed information about the policies and practices of the College is given in the appropriate sections of TCWA website, and in the Student Orientation Handbooks and the College’s manuals of policies and procedures that are available on campus.\n

\n\n
\n\n\n
\n

\n\tSanction\n

\n\n

\n\tThe organization is committed to high standards in the provision of education and training. The following Code of Practice describes the minimum standard of the organisation’s education and training. The policies set out in this Code of Practice underpin the operations of the organisation. \n\n
\n

\n\tQuality Management Focus\n

\n\n

\n\tThe organization has a commitment to providing a quality service with a focus on continuous improvement. The organisation values feedback from students, tutors and other industry representatives. Where possible, the organisation designs diagnostic assessment tools specific to student needs.\n

\n\n
\n

\n\tLegistalative Requirement\n

\n\n

\n\tTCWA follows all relevant Commonwealth and State laws covering OH&S, workplace harassment, victimization and bullying, anti-discrimination, including equal opportunity, access and equity, racial vilification, disability discrimination as prescribed in the: OH&S Act, EEO, Access & Equity and anti Discrimination and Harassment Acts, ACT Code of Practice.\n

\n\n
\n

\n\tAccess and Quality\n

\n\n

\n\tWe are committed to providing opportunities to all people for advancement in training on an equitable basis, including industries where women are under-represented, people with disabilities, people from non-English speaking backgrounds, Indigenous Australians, and rural and remote learners.\n

\n\n

\n\tAll participants have equal access to our programs irrespective of their gender, culture, linguistic background, race, socio-economic background; disability, age, marital status, pregnancy, sexual orientation or career’s responsibilities.
\n\tAll participants who met the entry requirements (if applicable) as prescribed by the appropriate National Training Package will be accepted into any program within our scope of registration. Any issues or questions raised regarding access and equity can be directed to the Principle Executive Officer.\n

\n\n
\n

\n\tSome examples of our support include:\n

\n\n

\n\tWe are able to assist with Language and Literacy support of participants who have difficulty with written or spoken English, (Student must complete a LLN from at the time of induction).
\n\tEqually so, we are able to support participants with numeracy issues.
\n\tThe ability to modify learning and assessment tasks to accommodate the unique cultural or personal needs of participants.
\n\tThe principles of Access and Equity are covered at our staff induction and regularly reviewed to ensure the correct interpretation and application.

\n\n
\n

\n\n

\n\tThe organization markets training products with integrity, accuracy and professionalism, avoiding vague and ambiguous statements. In the provision of information, no false or misleading comparisons are drawn with any other Training Provider, thus insuring that the Organisation’s market strategies will not contravene legislation.\n

\n\n
\n

\n\tRecognition of Prior Learning\n

\n\n

\n\tTCWA offers vocational courses at different levels and recognises that student may already have the skills and knowledge in areas of the training.\n

\n\n

\n\tThus enrolling students can apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for whole competencies of the course they enroll in prior to the commencement of studies or during the first term in the chosen course. It should be noted that a shortening of overall course duration does not change the requirement for students to be enrolled in full-time study.\n

\n\n

\n\tFor further information on recognition of prior learning please refer to RPL policy.\n

\n\n
\n

\n\tTerms and Conditions\n

\n\n

\n\tTCWA requires all students to access and understand all course information available on the website, at reception and included in the college application and marketing material.
