What is an Anomaly?

\n\n

Anomalies are official\ncross-faction events held by Niantic where both factions compete for several\nhours to control a predetermined area. The outcome adds points to both\nfactions’ total score for the series and can influence the Ingress storyline.\nAttendees are given a scanner badge as proof of their participation.

What is the duration of an Anomaly?

\n\n

Actual game play takes\nplace over 4 hours, with one measurement at the end of each hour. However, the\nonsite registration time can be a few hours before the first measurement; and\nthere will be a get together or after party after the event- so it’s pretty\nmuch a daylong affair.

\n\n

 

\n\n

What is GORUCK?

\n\n

A series of team-based\nphysical challenges that take place through the previous night (Stealth Ops)\nand during the measurement period (Urban Ops). Winning challenges earns valuable intel that helps win the cluster\nbattle. The event will be organized by official GORUCK Cadre, who are engaged with Niantic. Simple! Follow the Anomaly\nRegistration link, fill in your details, and we’ll contact you soon. Don’t\nforget to register separately at the Niantic Event Page for your scanner\nbadge.
